  • Can I claim Massage from my health fund?

Depending on your level of health care cover you have and it must be for a remedial massage, The Studio provides you with a receipt to claim a rebate, for your private health fund.

  • I never had a massage before. What should I expect?

Many new clients, especially if they’ve never had a massage before, may be nervous when arriving for their first massage appointment. At Bodywork Studio, we make sure your experience is a positive one.

A massage therapist will review a detailed health intake with you before providing any massage services. This important step helps the massage therapist better understand your needs and provide the safest possible massage services. All information given to the massage therapist is confidential but maybe released to your doctor only with your written permission. After a brief conversation with your massage therapist, your therapist will take you to the treatment room.

If this is your first visit, make sure to fill out the new client registration and consent form when you arrive for your appointment.  If you book over the phone or through our website, you will receive a confirmation text and/or email and a reminder message 24 hours before your appointment.

  • How often should I receive a massage?

For those who use massage as preventative care or to manage daily stress or it is part of your fitness program, one to two massages a month is common. Weekly sessions may be desirable if you are receiving a massage for injury relief or to relieve chronic tightness that is interfering with your daily life. There are many people who incorporate massage therapy at least twice a month for optimal therapeutic relief or is part of their fitness regime.

  • Will I be covered during the session?

You will be properly covered or draped at all times to keep you warm and comfortable. Only the area being worked on will be exposed. No areas will be exposed without your consent. You should always let your therapist know if you are uncomfortable for any reason during your massage session.

  • Must I be completely undressed?

You should undress to your desired level of comfort. A high percentage of our clients prefer to be completely or partially undressed, while the remaining clients prefer to keep their undergarments on. This is completely up to you. You will undress and dress in the privacy of your massage room and will be securely covered by a towel during your massage session.

  • Can I purchase Gift Vouchers from your Studio?

Yes, Bodywork Studio Gift Vouchers are easy, unique and convenient – All you have to do is choose the value of the voucher and then the rest is up to us. It doesn’t get any better than that! For the recipient, whether they are family, friends, bestie or that special person in your life.

  • I arrived with a lot of pain, but after the massage the pain is still there!

While the massage therapy will assist with pain relief, it may take several hours after your massage for the pain relief effects to kick-in. Additional sessions may be needed to reduce pain for chronic conditions.  When you join a gym and want to get into shape, you don't expect to reach your goal with a single workout.

Massage therapy, when applied correctly, may require more than one session to achieve your pain relief goals. If you are suffering from an injury or condition beyond the scope of massage therapy, we will refer you to someone who can best treat or help you.
